Squill Hive
This is a new hive in the apiary named after the Siberian Squill or Wood Squill flower and it’s beautiful blue pollen. The Siberian Squill is a non native species but still an important early spring food source for bees. The Squill pollen is steel blue and available for the bees to forage in March and April. Squill Hive started from a package, originating in Georgia, on April 14, 2012 and was put into a 10 frame Langstroth hive using deep supers, wooden frames and wired wax foundation. This is a rooftop hive.
